WORDS FROM BEYOND
In response to one of my recent Psychic World features on Electronic Voice Phenomena I received a letter from California USA which offered an account of a discarnate voice speaking through an electrical massage machine. The author of the letter, Moana Smith, wrote that in April 2009 she had purchased this machine to ease her back pain and that when she had switched it on a voice spoke to her. At first Moana believed that her mind was playing tricks and she was suffering from auditory hallucinations. Then, whilst using the machine in the presence of her sister Moana heard the voice again. This was also heard and confirmed by her sister who was amazed, as one may imagine. In response to Moana’s letter I sent an email requesting further details of exactly what the discarnate voice was saying. Here are some examples of what the voice said:
The first thing spoken from the machine was an instruction: ‘Write It Down…Write It Down’. Those were the first words and Moana switched it off. Then, some three days later when Monana again tried the machine she heard it speak her mother’s name, the lady had passed to spirit in 1999. In shock Moana called her brother who said he thought she might just be a little crazy, like brothers do. Time after time Moana switched on the massage machine to hear it continue to speak names of her long departed family. As many of Moana’s relatives came from distant lands the names were of foreign extraction and the machine uttered phrases in the language of their land i.e. in French and German. Before each name was spoken the words ‘I am the vine’ came also ‘God is divine, praise the Lord’.
There were other names mentioned i.e. Aaban: Name of the Angel (Muslim) Abban: Irish 6th century Saint. Also a phrase in Spanish was spoken ‘Arriba Arriba’ which means up or up there. Moana’s grandmother had a saying she often spoke in German and the machine gave this out too: ‘Auch du Liebe’ translated means ‘Oh my dear’. The case of the talking massage machine is ongoing and I will report further on this subject in due course of time.
The well known actor and comedian Michael Bentine had many psychic experiences during his life and wrote about some of these in his brilliant book: Doors Of The Mind. One incident that Bentine recounted involved the phenomena known as Direct Voice. It was in the year 1979 whilst performing his touring comedy show at a country club in the county of Gloucestershire and staying in a room there he turned out the lights, climbed into bed and as he did so heard a deep booming voice that seemed to come from the centre of the room saying loudly ‘Blood Sacrifice’. Somewhat shocked by this Bentine switched the lights back on, but the room was empty, there was no one else there. When he switched the lamp off again and tried to sleep once more the voice spoke, only this time it seemed closer to his bed ‘Blood Sacrifice’ it said and at that point Michael Bentine decided he would spend the rest of the night reading a book.
The next morning Benetine questioned the manager of the country club asking if the room he had occupied was known to be haunted, not so said the manager. That day Bentine drove back home and as he was passing BlenheimPalace he again heard the voice from nowhere saying exactly the same thing ‘Blood Sacrifice’. By now Michael Bentine was becoming concerned. At home he told his wife about his experiences and went to relax in the lounge, quietly exhausted from his lack of sleep and the drive. As he sat dozing in the easy armchair with his wife sitting opposite Bentine was shocked awake by a loud and resounding explosion that came from within the wood of the occasional table beside him. Then again the words were spoken, only this time within his head: ‘Blood Sacrifice’. In shock Bentime jumped out of his chair and as he did so the telephone in the hallway rang, his wife answered it. The news was really tragic, she told Michael that his close friend, the MP Airey Nieve had been murdered in a bomb outrage at The House of Commons. Bentine and Nieve had been serving officers together during WWII and Nieve was famous for being one of the few to ever escape from the notorious prison Colditz.
As Bentine sat reflecting on the terrible news he said, quietly, a prayer for the soul of his wonderfully brave and distinguished old friend Airey Nieve. As he did so suddenly, with a crack like a pistol shot, Bentine heard again an explosion from with the occasional table, then a voice spoke to him ‘And all the trumpets sounded for him on the other side’. The words were loud and clear though his wife who was present did not hear them.
Some time later Michael Bentine attended the Memorial Service for Airey Nieve held at St Martin-in-the-Fields. He recalls he was sitting behind the organ contemplating the extraordinary career of Airey Nieve and reflecting on their friendship when suddenly he heard the words again ‘And all the trumpets sounded for him on the other side’. This time he looked up and saw that they were being spoken by Margaret Thatcher the leader of The Conservative Party who was speaking in memory of Airey Nieve. Those words are taken from John Bunyan’s book Pilgrim’s Progress.
