For the moment she had felt as though some unseen being was speaking through her, using her vocal chords to answer her friends question about spirits and spooks. It felt, she remembers, as though she had been overshadowed by another presence. It certainly baffled her childhood pals who hadn’t got a clue what a parallel universe might be
It was not until Andrea reached her late thirties that she would again encounter the paranormal. Her life had been one of reasonable materialistic success, she had run shops, owned a supermarket and had lived life to the full. Her leisure time was often taken up with playing Bridge, which she did to competition standard. Then she suffered a serious fall and damaged her sciatic nerve. For six months she was unable to walk and was, effectively, house bound. During her convalescence Andrea, for some reason unknown to herself, decided to read extensively about reincarnation and the spirit world. These were not subjects she would normally entertain. Her usual reading being confined to trade journals with the odd woman’s magazine now and then. Quite why she decided to research the esoteric field of psychic matters at that point in her life, was outside her comprehension. But there is always a reason for everything, Andrea read many books and her interest developed.
There is a Spiritualist Church in Hull, on John Street. When Andrea was recovered from her fall she decided to go there and see if she could learn more about the subject she had been reading of. Following this, which was Andrea’s first close encounter with Spiritualism, she went on to a The Psychic Centre in Hull where she witnessed a demonstration of trance mediumship by a gentleman called Frank Grieveson. That experience was destined to change her life. Her mind was opened to the reality of life beyond this earthly plane, she saw Mr Grieveson change from being a Yorkshire man talking with a pronounced accent to being the very likeness of an Oxford don who introduced himself as Peter Strickland.
Time passed and Andrea became closely involved in the development circle, she met Frank’s son Alan there and eventually they were married. Together they continued to progress the power of their psychic gifts. Alan developed the same trance mediumship that Andrea had first seen demonstrated by his father Frank. Then Andrea began to ‘see’ clairvoyantly the aura of those around her, she could sense, intuitively, if something was wrong. Through Alan’s trance mediumship came advice from the spirit of an old American Indian. This spirit taught Andrea how to read stones and clairvoyantly see other peoples past lives. Her psychic/spiritual gifts were really beginning to develop to the point where they could be used to benefit others.
It was during a period of trance mediumship, given by her husband Alan, that Andrea received a message from the spirit world telling her that she had to write. The discarnate spirit of Professor Strickland spoke through Alan Grieveson and said ‘Will you write?’ Andrea was unsure what was really meant by this but took up a pen and sat before a bundle of plain paper expecting she knew not what. She just felt that someone, some discarnate entity, wanted to write through her. She was more than a little uncertain but allowed it to happen. As she waited, expectantly, a voice came into her mind telling her about life in the next world. Andrea wrote down that which she was hearing and it made sense. It was rather like receiving dictation from an unseen executive, Andrea just transcribed the words she heard. Gradually the pages mounted into quite a collection of closely related accounts of how various spirits had found themselves in the next world. There were accident victims who told of the disbelief they felt at finding themselves outside their physical bodies, philanderers whose spirit lives were an impoverished isolated torment. One after another spirit after spirit came to speak to Andrea, they all had their own story to tell.
After many months of writing Andrea found she had amassed a large number of individual accounts given to her by the spirit people. It was then that Andrea received a message for herself, she was told to put her written works together and create a book ‘Read How We Died’. This book was to enlighten the people of this earth and explain to them the many different experiences that await beyond the veil of physical death. Today Andrea Grieveson has these accounts published in a very readable book; ‘Read How We Died’ (Con-Psy Publications). She continues in her spiritual work helping and guiding others who seek to know just what lies beyond this often difficult world we live in. Andrea now lives in Ruabon, near Wrexham in North Wales where she continues to receive dictation from the spirit world .
