MONUMENT TO CHIEF LEATHERLIPS
Dublin, OHIO, USA.
In the state of Ohio USA there was once an Indian Chief of the Wyandots tribe called SOU-CHA-ET-ESS which means Long Gray Hair. The white men who settled in Ohio trusted this Indian Chief as he always kept his promises so they called him Leatherlips. However in later years, long after the death of Chief Leatherlips, people built a golf course on what had once been the burial ground of the Wyandots tribe. It is said that this angered the spirit of Chief Leatherlips who has put a curse on the golf course making it rain whenever a major tournament played there. Many residents of Ohio testify that this curse seems to be working as each year when the US Golf champions play at this course it really does rain.
