KNOSSOS

CRETE

In September of 2005 Psychicworld.net visited the ancient palace of Knossos on the Greek island of Crete. Knossos is one of the most important palaces of the Minoan civilization dating back over four thousand years.  The palace is associated with the Greek legends of Daidalos and Icaros and also the Minotaur. The area and site of Knossos has been inhabited from the Neolithic age (7000-3000 B.C.) Mycenaean script on stone tablets dating from the 14th century B.C. refer to the site as ko-no-so.  The palace itself was the residence of legendary King Minos who, according to Greek mythology, held the Minotaur a half man half bull creature locked into a labyrinth beneath the city.

When Psychicworld.net examined photographs taken on the visit a mysterious image of a bulls face was found peering out from a stone. This is reproduced below.

Knossos was discovered in 1878 by Minos Kalokairinos. Arthur Evans conducted systematic excavations at the site between 1900 and 1931, bringing to light the palace, a large section of the Minoan city, and the cemeteries. Since then, the site and the surrounding area have been excavated by the British School of Archaeology at Athens.
