Is Your House Haunted?

As a young child I lived for a while with my parents and grandparents in a 17th century weavers cottage in the village of Foulridge, near Colne, Lancashire. The house was haunted by the spirit of a man called ‘Sammy Tuppy’ who, according to local records, was once employed as a postman. I can clearly recall talking to an unseen shadowy shape that occupied a dark part of the cellar, where the hand-loom would have stood. I had no fear of this ‘ghost’ though my grandmother blamed it for causing disruption in the house. Things would mysteriously disappear from one room and reappear elsewhere in places that were unlikely. For example the fire irons were once found in the bathroom, then one time all the curtains were drawn in the middle of the day. Nothing dramatic, just strange occurrences that were inexplicable. So my Gran. Blamed ‘Sammy Tuppy’.
Over the years I have visited many haunted houses and have frequently found that there is an energy source that the discarnate spirit uses as a means to empower the activity associated with the haunting. Often this energy source is a pubescent teenager making the transformation between child and adult. The kinetic energy created within the teenager is somehow tapped into by the discarnate spirit and converted into power that enables said spirit to physically interact with its surroundings. That is the difference between a residual energy ‘haunting’ and an actual interactive discarnate spirit haunting, when the entity manifests itself as what we commonly term a ghost.
With residual energy ‘hauntings’ what is actually witnessed is a form of atmospheric recording playing back. Rather like a video recorder holds a record of images and sound on magnetic tape so the stones, bricks, ground and area hold a recording of activities that took place in days long past. These recordings, according to some theories, happen when great amounts of emotional energy is discharged by the individuals undertaking the actions. For example during the commission of a murder, execution or sexual assault. Then the kinetic energy is powerfully discharged into the atmosphere as the action takes place burning the images and sounds into the surrounding environment forevermore. This recording then plays back when the atmospheric conditions are absolutely right and what we see, though it may look like a ghost or ghosts, is in fact no more than residual energy.
There can be absolutely no interaction with a residual energy haunting. Just in the same way that you cannot interact with the characters in films such as ‘Gone With The Wind’. For the characters that we see in a residual energy haunting are, in fact, nothing more than a form of natural holographic image. An example of one such ‘haunting’ is the ‘ghost’ of Anne Bolyn that has been seen many times walking the long corridor of Hampton Court palace. People say they see her but what they are seeing is a residual energy recording.
However there are many instances of actual discarnate entity hauntings that do cause problems for the incarnate, living, individuals subjected to them. One such problem is getting anyone who can do something about it to take them seriously. In the month of July 2006 I received a telephone call from a lady living near Blackpool, Lancs. She told me that her house was haunted and that all the members of her family had experienced various forms of negative phenomena. There had been: Cold Spots. Footsteps from an invisible source. Mysterious scratching noises in a bedroom. Strange scent of strawberries. Sense of despair and depression causing them to inexplicably burst into tears and an overwhelming feeling of gloom. According to this lady, Mrs. C. she was a reasonably devout member of the Roman Catholic church and when the haunting began she and her husband called in the local priest to bless the property in the hope that this would drive away the ghost or entity causing the problems. Mrs. C. said that whilst the blessing did seem to work for a while within weeks the sense of foreboding had returned and with it the tears and the other depressing phenomena. It was at this point she telephoned me.
One Saturday in early July 2006 myself and the psychic-medium Gary Dakin went to the home of Mrs. C. to attempt to clear the premises of any negative entity or entities that was causing this haunting. First we interviewed all residents and identified the energy source as being the teenage daughter. She told us that her experiences with the ghost included her bedroom being filled with the horrible sound of scratching, as if some invisible hands with long nails were raking them across the windows and walls. Also she had been subjected to night visitation as though being watched and a feeling of depression causing her to suddenly break down in tears, for no explicable reason. The house itself was also a likely cause as the family had commenced renovations and knocked through into the property adjoining, which they also owned. Both Gary and I heard the name ‘Anne’ quite clearly as we sat within the main lounge and I heard the name Pilkington, Anne Pilkington.
Gary and I then conducted a full psychic search of the property, well it was really two cottages knocked into one, using as aids a magnetometer and a sophisticated laser-beam electronic thermometer. The devices registered incredible fluctuations in both magnetic energy field and temperature, which jumped in some areas by as much as ten degrees. Finally we located the entity, a discarnate spirit named Anne, that was haunting the upper back bedroom. Using prayers by Gary and urgent instructions with direct motivation from me we moved the spirit out of the bedroom, down the stairs, through the main door and off into the world beyond and the kingdom of light. Both Gary and I could feel the entity and sensed that this was an old lady who had lived in the cottage many years ago and mistakenly still believed she, in her spirit body, had rights there. We left her in no doubt that she didn’t and showed this sad departed soul the way to paradise.
It is now some six weeks or so as I write since Gary and I cleared the property for Mr.& Mrs. C. of their ghost and I am assured by them that all has been calm and peaceful since.
