AT THE END OF THE DAY
As I have said before in this column, I really believe that self discipline is the key to Spirit communication and that those who lose control are the ones who will have problems with regard to psychic attack and paranormal disturbance. I receive letter upon letter telling me of these events so evidently it must be quite a common occurrence. I see the underlying cause of this problem in being that people do not look at themselves as a possible cause for their dilemma and are far too ready to apportion blame somewhere else. At the end of the day we are responsible for ourselves and any issues that crop up in our lives, including paranormal ones. These should be lessons that we learn from and deal with. I believe that part of the fault lies within our ranks, because as Spiritualists we should be more answerable to question than we are. It has always seemed to me that in the Spiritualist church we act as if we are a select club and quite often we mistakenly assume that if people need help they will come to us. How many of us are brave enough to come out of the closet and stand up for what we know is the truth? How many of us would be prepared to form a rescue circle and advertise its services in order to offer help?
People in general tend to be ignorant of the laws and mechanics that govern the Spirit world and so as a result are unaware of the fact that the only genuine exorcism that can take place is with the knowledge and help of our Spirit guides. The first port of call for many people in distress is the local priest who will come splashing holy water about. There are, occasionally, clergymen who have a certain degree of success with this but I think that the benefits gained from this procedure are mainly psychological and of no real use in a Spiritual sense. The account that follows is a true story and one that highlights the point that I’m trying to make. I have a rule that I follow religiously which is, if through my work I come across a Spiritual problem, perhaps an unwanted Spirit entity in someone’s home, then I see it as my responsibility to sort it out. This belief is the reasoning which over the years has taught me a great deal and put me very often in the front line of fire.
In April this year I conducted a demonstration of clairvoyance in a restaurant in the Swinton area of Manchester, where I relayed several specific messages from the world beyond but one message in particular was again to put me in the line of fire. A lady by the name of Linda, was the recipient of information that came from her father. She was in an agitated state as she told me that a Spirit presence in her home had been noticed and was causing concern. In actual fact it was worrying her greatly because until receiving the message from her father at my demonstration, she had no idea who was making doors shut on their own and who was causing breezes and knocking pictures off the wall. She wasn’t to know that her father was only trying to make her aware that he was still close to her because she was going through a hard time. She had recently split up with her boyfriend and been left with a three year old daughter to bring up with very little money. I did not go into all the details publicly but instead I asked her to talk to me after the demonstration. She did come to me at the end and asked for advice on the matter. She explained to me that she was so frightened by the occurrences in her home that she had to have friends staying over night with her so that she could sleep. She also said that she feared for the safety of her three year old. I again tried to explain to her that it was simply her father letting her know that he was close to her and supporting her through her problems. I went on to say that now he had got his point across, he would fade away to a far less intrusive distance from her. She explained that she had loved him very much and that he had single-handedly brought her up due to her mother’s passing at the age of twenty six in a car crash, so it was obvious to me at least that her father just wanted to help her, not frighten her.
That should have sorted out her
problem but alas the human mind is a playground for the more negative of
vibrations and the imagination can play cruel tricks on a person, especially
when that person is in an emotional state. I found in this case that Linda,
who was feeling vulnerable, was using her experiences in order to draw
people and friends close to her, making her the focal point of conversation.
It was as if she was crying out for attention and getting it in anyway
she could. All I could do in this case was to say to her that she knew
her father would not hurt her and that in fact she could cherish the contact
with him. She would not let me visit her and said that she would rather
face it alone. I have contacted her recently by telephone and all is returning
to normal. One would hope that Linda will soon have a new man in her life
and that the sun will again shine in her life.
Clearance of Spirit is a relatively easy operation when you are equipped with some knowledge of the mechanics of how the Spirit world operates. I have done this job many times quite easily but the problem of eradicating the negative imaginings from a person’s mind afterwards is not a job for me but for a psychiatrist or councillor. A good idea would be if there were people, councillors or psychologists, who’s function would be to work alongside a rescue circle. To my knowledge this has never been done but I feel that this would be a superb step forward. I wonder if any reader knows of such a gathering of people or would even like to set one up themselves, if so I would be delighted to help in any way that I can.
