BILL PARKER: THE MAN WHO HEALS THE SICK
Some few years ago an elderly gentleman called Bill Parker came to my home seeking advice regarding psychic phenomena that was disturbing the peace of his house. As I listened to what he had to say I knew that he was receiving communication from the world of spirit. The phenomena he was experiencing during the hours of darkness in his bedroom included : Multi-coloured lights floating around his bed: Materialisation of spirit beings one of which was a Chinese man: Footsteps from an invisible source walking around the room: Invisible hands touching his body. I listened carefully to what this gentleman said and advised him that he was being approached directly by spirit as he had a calling to answer. That calling was for him to work as a healer of the sick. As we spoke I could clearly see that in the future he would be recognized as gifted with the ability to help ease the pain and suffering of the incapacitated. But this man had never ever contemplated such an idea. He was not a particularly religious individual, though he and his dear wife Jean did attend their local Christian Church. Therefore my advice took him by surprise, I advised him to go immediately to the Spiritualist Church at Blackpool, near his home, and ask to speak to the President with a view to joining the development circle.
Bill took my advice and went to the Spiritualist Church in Blackpool where he spoke first to the President who directed him to the medium Ms L. Kay. From this meeting Bill was invited to join a development circle run by Mr. Alan Restrick and for some six weeks he sat with a group of people at the church. However no one there suggested to Bill that he was destined to be a healer of the sick though Alan Restrick did say that there was something special ahead for him.
When the circle terminated at Blackpool Spiritualist Church Bill was wondering what to do next and found the answer by going to Preston. At the Spiritualist Church there Bill met the President, Mr. Jim Rowe, who listened to his accounts of visions and psychic phenomena. Bill had continued to see spirits and materialisations of various wild animals, such as lions. When Jim Rowe tested Bill he advised him that he had a natural and powerful healing gift. Encouraged by this Bill applied to become a registered healer and wrote out a cheque to cover the initial registration fee. He was looking forward to becoming a healer within the Spiritualist Church. Time passed, nothing happened.
Almost a year later, Bill had received no notification of receipt of his cheque and, despite attending the Preston Spiritualist Church had still not been invited to use his healing gift. In fact, for some reason or other, Bill’s cheque had never been cashed. One night, on the way home to his house in Great Eccleston, Bill’s wife suggested they call in to see her Aunt. The old lady’s daughter had been ill for some time suffering from extreme pain in her neck. When Bill told her that he was trying to become a registered healer within the Spiritualist Church she at once asked him to put his powers to the test on her injury. Bill Parker offered no guarantees but decided to try and placed his hands at the side of, but not onto, the lady’s neck. As he did so Bill felt a surge of power passing through his body, into his hands and from these out to the lady. She reported only that she felt a strange heat and a sense of absolute peace enveloping her totally. It was just a matter of a few days later that the lady telephoned Bill’s wife Jean to say that her neck, which had been causing her pain for years, was clear, she announced that she was cured. The lady was so delighted she said she was going to tell everyone.
Following this amazing cure word began to get around that Bill Parker was a gifted healer and he began to receive calls and visits from sick people asking him to help. One such person was Mr. S. of Preston who was suffering from psychiatric problems and had been an inpatient in hospital. I interviewed Mr. S. and he told me that when he first visited Bill Parker he was in the midst of a profound depressive illness. So ill was he that the mere thought of making the journey to Bill’s home scared him and he had to be driven there by a friend. This is how Mr. S. described what happened next ‘I was feeling really low, sad and depressed; the whole world seemed a dark, threatening place. When I went to Bill’s house I was close to the very edge, life seemed pointless and I had no will to live. The Dr. had given me medication and I was taking this, but it just made me dozy and listless. Bill changed my life. The healing he gave me was so gentle; he didn’t even touch me, just sat me down and sort of eased the agony out of my mind. It took a while, some months in fact, but I can honestly say that in my opinion, Bill Parker brought me back from the brink of the suicide’. Mr. S. had of course continued his medical treatment, so it could be argued that he would have been cured anyway, but he himself credits Bill as being the source of his salvation.
Another thankful recipient of Bill’s healing power is Mrs. Anne T. of Pear Tree Farm near Kirkham. I interviewed Anne and she told me how Bill had helped cure her husband’s bad back, her ulcerated leg and her son who had fallen off scaffolding fracturing his skull. ‘We telephoned Bill having heard about his healing powers and he kindly came to our farm. The family was a disaster zone, my husband, age 50, had a bad back that was causing him sleepless nights. He had seen numerous Drs and specialists without finding relief. Bill just sat him down, ran his hands down the side of his back without touching and I could see the relief on my husband’s face. It took a few visits but Bill cured him, his back’s as right as rain now. I had an ulcer on my leg and despite following all the advice and taking the medication given to me by my GP it would not heal. Bill placed his hands about four inches away from this ulcer, moved them slightly up and down then, as he did so, I felt a glowing sensation within my leg. It took a few weeks of Bill’s visits and healing sessions but that ulcer healed. My son had fallen off scaffolding and fractured his skull. The consultant at the hospital said it would be about six months before he would be able to walk and work again. Bill did his stuff, called regular for six weeks and, incredibly, our son Robert was cured. He healed and was back at work within six weeks. We met Bill Parker at Moor Lane Spiritualist Church in Preston and we thank Spirit that we did, he has really helped this family. Not only that he won’t accept payment, only expenses. Earlier this year Bill Parker’s dear wife Jean passed to spirit after a short illness. Bill tried all he could and his efforts ensured that Jean was in no pain. When I spoke to him about this he was philosophical ‘It was her time’ he said ‘at least she did not have to suffer’. Bill knows that from her home in the world beyond Jean is encouraging him to continue with his work helping and healing those who are sick and in need.
Bill never did get registered with the Spiritualist Church as a healer. He was told he needed to attend at the Church every Monday night for two years without fail. BILL PARKER: HEALING AT A DISTANCE
Harry Edwards once said that of all the gifts given by the spirit world the greatest of all of these was the gift of healing. In his time Harry Edwards filled to capacity venues such as The Albert Hall in London as tens of thousands of people came to see and hear him speak and heal the sick. There exists today a continuation of the good work that was started by Mr. Edwards. One excellent and gifted healer is Bill Parker who lives in the county of Lancashire, on the outskirts of Blackpool, in a village called Great Ecclestone. Absent healing is the channelling of healing forces over distance by the power of prayer.
