ANNE HATHAWAY'S COTTAGE

Anne Hathaway's cottage Stratford-upon-Avon

This is the home of Shakespeare's lover Miss Anne Hathaway. She was the daughter of a wealthy farming family and it was at this cottage that William Shakespeare, then a young man of 18 years, courted Anne who was some years older than he.  They married and lived in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon.

It may be that the ghosts of William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway still vist this remarkably beautiful, typically English cottage. When Psychicworld.net  visited we found the location to be wonderfully peaceful. A visit is highly recommended for all who admire the work of William Shakespeare. Perhaps, for one brief moment, you can pause and dream a dream of love as he must have done all those centuries ago.

Sonnet 18: by William Shakespeare.

Shall I compare thee to a summers day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May

And summer's lease hath all too short a date:

Sometimes too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And often is his gold complexion dimmed;

and every fair from fair sometimes declines,

By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed;

But thy eternal summer shall not fade,

Nor lose possession of that fair tou ow'st,

Nor shall death brag thou wanderest in his shade,

When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st;

So long as men can breath, or eyes can see

So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
