MY SPIRITUAL AWAKENING:

MARIE WOODS

Back--Home

Marie Woods is currently one of the North Wests top clairvoyants. She had her own set of offices in Princess Street Southport and only recently relocated, her company is called Predictions. Word of her incredible accuracy reached the ears of Red Rose Radio host Mr Tony Newman, who immediately called Marie in for a telephone chat show. She knocked them bandy, as they say. But it wasn't always so for this very gifted lady, in times past things have been tough.

Marie's mother was born of Greek parents in Egypt where she became a school teacher. Moving to England before Marie was born the family settled in the quiet seaside town of Southport, near Liverpool. There the young Marie grew up surrounded by her mother Anna's many mystical friends.

Mrs Anna Moore was psychic and a member of the local Spiritualist Church. There would often be spiritualist friends round talking about the movement and their belief in life after death. To Marie this was just a natural part of life, she accepted the teachings and thought everyone else did.

It was as a young girl of perhaps 7 years of age that Marie first had a personal encounter with the world of spirit. In the family home, Marie was sitting reading a comic when in walked a large fat brown and white cat. Wondering whose it was Marie got out of her seat and followed it, down the long corridor, up the stairs and into her bedroom, where it walked into the closed wardrobe and disappeared. She looked everywhere but, no cat.

That evening as Marie sat eating the main meal of the day her mother told her that one of her friends from the local Spiritualist church had died. Marie, being just a child, thought no more of this and time passed. Some months later, whilst in the bathroom cleaning her teeth, Marie again saw the funny fat cat. Dropping her toothbrush Marie followed the creature along the landing and into her room, once more the cat walked into the closed wardrobe and vanished.

This time Marie told her mother about the cat and was comforted to learn from this very spiritual lady that animals, like humans, have souls that live on after death. That night the family received a telephone call from a neighbour to say that one of Anna's friends had died that morning, the time of death was approximately the same as when Marie had seen the cat.

Over the next few years, up to the age of 9 or 10 Marie saw that mysterious cat on different occasions, each time she saw it someone known to her family had died. Her mother Anna almost began to fear her daughter saying that the cat was back, but as a Spiritualist she knew that death was but a doorway into another world. Eventually, as Marie became a young woman, interested in all the usual things, like young boys, the sightings of the cat stopped.

It was many years later, after the death of her mother Anna, that Marie next encountered the world of spirit. She had a dear old friend of advanced years called Sydney who, one birthday, had given Marie a pack of Tarot cards. He had told her she should practice with these as he knew she had a psychic gift. Shortly after making this gift to her, Sydney died. Marie did shuffle them a few times but had no real inclination to study Tarot, to her it seemed more for harmless amusement. Then her father told Marie to move out of the family home.

By chance, if there is such a thing, Marie went with a Spiritualist friend who took her along to Southport Spiritualist Church. During the service the medium, Glynn Edwards, said to Marie that he had with him the spirit of a man who had an important message for her. She should, said the spirit, use the gift he had given her to make her living. Marie was puzzled, it had never occured to her to read Tarot professionally and had only ever used the cards for fun. But, with the encouragement of her Spiritualist friend, and the spirit of Sydney, she decided to give it a go. Placing a small advertisement in the local Southport Star Newspaper Marie awaited her first customers with a sense of hope. The results that she achieved astounded all those who came to see her for a private reading.

Soon Marie Woods was in great demand as news of her incredibly accurate predictions spread. People came from all over the North of England as others recommended her and, within less than a year, she had established her offices on Princess Street in Southport.

It was there, in 1993 whilst I was researching a feature for Psychic World, that I first met this incredible lady. She told me that in years to come I would write a series of illustrated children's books and be extremely successful. Now that was something I had no intention of doing at the time, but Marie knew. She was of course, spot on. I have met her many times since and can highly recommend this amazing lady to anyone who is seeking a clairvoyant reading. I only hope that cat doesn't turn up the next time I pop in to see her.

Marie Woods can be contacted for private consultations on Tel: 01704 226398, just mention that you got her number from this website and give her my regards. She has now relocated her offices and is no longer in Princess Street.
