MY SPIRITUAL AWAKENING
JO COLLINS
If any UK readers buy the very popular weekly magazine 'THAT'S LIFE' or have read '17' the teenage mag, then the name Jo Collins will be familiar. Jo is one of the UK's top Astrologers and was recently featured on BBC TV's FULLY BOOKED. She writes Star Sign columns and is a very well respected lecturer and public speaker on psychic subjects.
Jo kindly agreed to be interviewed about her life for Psychic World . This is her true story. Born in South Africa in the town of Bulawayo to English parents, Josephine Collins spent her first year in the heat of the African sun. Her childhood home changed from the bustle of Bulawayo to a quaint Tudor village in Kent, when her fathers employment brought them back to Britain.
As a child Jo was extremely sensitive, she would feel others high emotions and could sense their innermost feelings, no matter what face they chose to present to the world. There is a long history of psychic ability in Jo's family and when she told her mother of her sensitivity there was an instant understanding. At the age of 14 years, young Jo first became truly aware of her rapidly developing psychic gifts. It was towards the end of the spring term and Jo had been very busy at school. There were mock examination and lots of social activities such as dances and she was really worn out. As she lay resting on her bed Jo suddenly became aware that her face was too close to the ceiling. Now she knew this couldn't be, her bed was on the floor and the ceiling was about 8 foot above it, yet there it was inches from her face. In panic Jo looked down and saw herself asleep on the bed. She tried to move her hands but from where she was, floating yards away from her body she had no control.
In the downstairs living room Jo could hear her younger brother talking with her father and she tried to shout out, but no sound would come from her mouth. A sense of terror ran through her very conscious mind, thinking she was dead Jo tried to jump back into her body. In an instant she was awake and trembling like a leaf. Quickly she ran downstairs and did her very best to explain to her somewhat bemused father all about her experience, for which he could offer no real explanation.
From that time onwards Jo knew she had psychic gifts, the one thing she didn't know was how to develop them. Her mother listened with great patience as Jo asked question after question about her grandmother who had been a medium. There was always understanding and a gentle reassurance from Jo's mum, but she couldn't help her progress with her spiritual development. Fortunately for Jo her parents did not stand in her way, and when she explained that she was going to see a medium for guidance, raised no objections.
It was whilst sitting with a long established Spiritualist Medium that Jo was told to read all she could on the subject of Spiritualism and then seek out a good development circle. The medium said if she did that then her gifts would quickly flourish and in time the world would know her name. It was a prediction that young Jo was determined to make come true.
Over the next few years Jo attended many spiritualist lectures, read hundreds of books and finally went to The Spiritualist Association of Great Britain in central London. There, as chance if there is such a thing, would have it they were opening a list for potential members of a new development circle, Jo applied as was at once accepted. Jo believes that the spirit world guided her steps towards the SAGB that day, for without that admission into an excellent development circle she may never have started on her positive pathway to spiritual enlightenment.
It was entirely thanks to the guidance and tuition that Jo received from the medium at the SAGB that she discovered how to use her psychic energy to its best advantage. Quickly her mediumistic powers proved to be extremely strong and, within 18 months of joining the circle, Jo was receiving clairaudient messages from the spirit world. They told her she must use her gifts to bring enlightenment to the younger generation. There was a need they said for children to hear the truth, this was to be Jo's work.
Since that time Jo's psychic abilities have continued to develop, in her dreams she meets with her guides who tell her that in time to come she will be a major force for the progression of Spirituality. Jo believes it is her mission to write about psychic matters specifically for children. With her already recognised talents it seems this will happen.
Jo Collins is recognised as the young and very pretty face of psychic studies. Her youth and vigour will make her an acceptable, entertaining and highly creative role model for aspiring young mediums. Watch out for this young lady, she is very dynamic and her Star Sign is Leo, GRRrrrrrrrrrrrr!.
