Apports are objects, or even live creatures, that materialise out of thin air. They are said to come from another dimension and many believe they are gifts from the spirits.
During the late 19th century many mediums claimed to be able to produce apports during seances in darkened rooms. However more than a few were discovered to be cheating as the objects, such as flowers, were found secreted within their clothing prior to the séance. There is, however, good evidence that apports do take place and many creditable witnesses have offered testimony to support this strange phenomenon.
EXAMPLE
In January of 1999 the author John G. Sutton (myself) attended a public demonstration of mediumship at The Vogue Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, California U.S.A. Whilst in the theatre there appeared, from out of thin air, a number of American coins, mainly dimes and one cent pennies. These dropped onto the clean red carpet leading down through the auditorium towards the stage.
The theatre management explained that this was a regular phenomenon and no matter how often they cleaned the carpets coins would be found upon it. Further investigation produced evidence that is today in this writer's possession. I was walking through the theatre towards the stage with all the interior lights on. The carpet was definitely clear. Less than two minutes later on walking back towards the box office I saw a one cent coin in the middle of the carpet. This I picked up and placed in my pocket. It had not been there when I walked down, no one had followed me, there was no balcony in the theatre, so how the coin arrived there remains a mystery. Perhaps it did in apport from another dimension.
The question is, did I simply miss seeing this coin on my way towards the stage? Perhaps so, but very unlikely as I watch where I am walking. Maybe someone threw the coin there for me to find, if so why? Otherwise this seems like a typical apporting case. Certainly the theatre management believe so and they should know, they are Dr Montz and the International Society for Paranormal Research.
