of 1998 CCTV security cameras at a museum in Leicester captured video film
footage that showed what looked to be two misty images that some said were
ghosts. This film was shot on the CCTV cameras outside the museum called
Belgrave Hall near the city of Leicester.
Belgrave Hall is an early 18th Century house located some 3 miles north of the city centre of Leicester near the junction of Thurcaston Road and Loughborough Road (A6). It was on the night of 26th March 1999 that Parapsychologist Dr Montz of the International Society for Paranormal research lead a team of scientists and Psi investigators to Belgrave Hall to ascertain if there were indeed any ghosts there. |

The ISPR team consisted of Parapsychologist Dr Larry Montz Ph.D Sci/Psi Investigator Daena Smoller, Psi Investigators; Peter James, Linda Mackenzie and Derek Acorah. Sci Investigator Shawn Roop and myself, John G. Sutton, the ISPR PSI Research Executive. There were also present Andy Jones and Scott Madden of Dotted Line Entertainment Inc. with video cameras to record this investigation, though they played no active part.
The curator of Belgrave Hall Museum, Mr Stuart Warburton, kindly met us at the hall just before 9 p.m. on the 26th March. It was a cold and moonless night with a just hint of precipitation in the chilly west wind. Dr Montz quickly organised the ISPR team in the rear kitchen area of Belgrave Hall and began his briefing. He outlined the format of the night's investigation. Each ISPR Psi Investigator was to be taken into the property one at a time. No member of the team, other than myself and Dr Montz, had set foot in the old hall before this night. Not one of the ISPR team knew anything of the history of this building and the American members, i.e. everyone except Derek Acorah and myself, hadn't the first clue what sort of a house this might have been in the past. Belgrave Hall had been built long before Samuel Goldwyn had even heard of Hollywood, the home of the ISPR. In California property that was built in the mid 1930's is considered old. Belgrave Hall pre-dates this by two hundred years or more.
The Sci Investigators were carrying hand held magnetometers to measure fluctuations in the electro-magnetic field and LCD temperature gauges to register any sudden drop in temperature. At approaching 10 p.m. Dr Montz lead the first Psi Investigator; Linda Mackenzie along with the Sci team of Daena Smoller, Shawn Roop and the videographers into the main hallway of Belgrave Hall. The door closed behind them and no other team member followed.
One by one Dr Montz lead the Psi Investigators into the property and asked each to identify any discarnate entities that they could locate. The information each Psi Investigator gave was duly recorded by the two videographers and by Dr Montz who took contemporaneous notes. One by one the Psi Investigators, without reference to each other, identified the exact same spirit entities.
The investigation did not end until gone 1 a.m. on the morning of Saturday the 27th March. It was only then that Stuart Warburton was asked to verify the names of the 'ghosts' given by the three ISPR Psi Investigators; Linda Mackenzie, Derek Acorah and Peter James. Each name given was checked against the old family records held within Belgrave Hall. Each name was correct. This is the Interim ISPR Report on The Ghosts Of Belgrave Hall:
PRIVATE
ISPR Investigation of Belgrave Hall
INTERIM ISPR REPORT
1. The images on the CCTV film are natural phenomena created by atmospheric discharge.
2. The CCTV film containing the images, displayed certain electronic anomalies that could have caused the video film within the CCTV system to create the illusion of drifting mist, forming into seemingly solid shapes.
3. During paranormal activity, electronic equipment, such as video and audio recorders, are often known to malfunction. the reason for this is the subject of continuing investigation by Dr. Montz and the ISPR.
4. On the night of 26th March, the full ISPR Investigative Team headed by Dr. Montz, found Belgrave Hall to contain a number of active entities. These were identified by their full names and verified by reference to the historical records kept by Belgrave Hall Museum Curator, Stuart Warburton. These records were previously unseen by the ISPR Team.
INTERIM ISPR CONCLUSION
1. Belgrave Hall is actively haunted by numerous discarnate entities of a benign nature. Most are former occupants of the old hall.
2. Paranormal phenomena of the nature which began this ISPR Investigation (the CCTV images) is frequently correlated to entities attempting to draw attention to themselves. In this case, they certainly succeeded.
I would highly recommend a visit to Belgrave Hall, it is open Monday to Saturday 10.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Sunday 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Tel.0116 266 6590 The curator Stuart Warburton would no doubt be delighted to tell you all about the ghosts of Belgrave Hall. The full ISPR Investigation Report is being prepared by Dr Montz at the The Vogue Theatre ISPR HQ on Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood CA. U.S.A.
