THE BALTIMORE POLTERGEIST

Back--Home

In January of the year 1960 a household in Baltimore, Maryland began to experience poltergeist phenomena. This started with a number of ornaments exploding for no good reason and various items of furniture moving unaided around the house. The house owners were Mr and Mrs Jones. They lived there with their daughter and her husband and also Ted Jones their 17 year old son. All the occupants of the house were terrified by the alarming incidents and the news of their plight soon spread around the area.

Over the next few weeks, between the middle of January and early February, the poltergeist activity got so bad that the Jones family took all breakable objects out of the house. Inside they were certain to be smashed by the unseen presence that was trashing their home. Mr Jones called in the police and they conducted an examination of the damaged goods but no clue to why or how they were smashed was discovered. The local press reported the incident and soon the house was swarming with journalists and radio reporters.

The Baltimore poltergeist affair came to the attention of the famous Psychic Investigator Nandor Fodor. He went to the Jones house to examine the case at first hand. Once there Mr Fodor discovered that 17 year old Ted Jones was an ambitious writer who had no real outlet for his talents. Nandor Fodor theorised that it was the build up of repressed creative energy with Ted Jones that was creating the poltergeist activity. The was, in effect, PK or Psycho-Kinetic energy spontaneously released through the person of Ted Jones.

As a cure Nandor Fodor suggested that Ted Jones receive encouragement to use his talent as a writer. The parents of Ted Jones agreed and did give the young man both praise and credit for his creative work. Shortly after they did this the poltergeist disturbances ceased.

This was a properly documented case and local records at the library will confirm. If you live near Baltimore why not call in to the library and have a look at the newspapers from January to mid February for the year 1960.
