Fairy Dance
By
Samantha Ashton
As the thin mist settles,
On every blade of grass
The blackbird started singing
And the fairies begin their dance.
They creep out of all places
You wouldn’t think they’d be
Like crawling from a Toadstool
Or sneaking from a tree.
They gather in a circle
Fireflies as their light
And other animals join
As evening turns to night.
Frogs, snails and dormice
They sometimes ride upon,
Fairies, gnomes and brownies
They all come along.
As night creeps over,
The dark blue skies
The feast then begins
Of Thyme, Sage and Chives.
After the dancing,
The night grows weak,
And back to their houses
The Fairies creep.
