FROM FEAR TO CREATIVITY

It’s always exciting to facilitate a workshop at church. Today, I had the pleasure of working with twenty people as we began the exploration and identity of their spirituality and the purposes involved in the development and maintenance of their spiritual boundaries.
This was an introductory workshop where participants were presented with important facets of their spiritual life, such as their spiritual nature, spiritual boundaries and the soul’s purpose. The development of a spiritual identity has many aspects. However, in order to unfold one’s spiritual nature, there has to be a clear platform on which to evolve, as spiritual unfoldment is a life long process not a destination. The purposes of accessing this information are to realize that for every question asked the answer resides within the individual. The other purpose is to learn how to remove spiritual barriers between the different aspects of one’s own being.
The first exercise in the workshop invited people to begin to define their spirituality. The answers that were shared were diverse yet representative of the human condition such as, "I am exactly where I am supposed to be; I am a burst of passionate energy; I am sunlight and you are love and I am a lotus that is opening." The second exercise was for the purpose of identifying what was unique about each person present. The common theme in the responses shared was that every person stated at least one unique quality or behavior that was of a positive nature.
The third exercise was for the purpose of identifying spiritual boundaries. This phase of the workshop brought together the information from the first two exercises and demonstrated how important it is for people to be clear as to their role in limiting the development of their spirituality. The purpose of spiritual boundaries is to help individuals to unfold spiritually and protect them from the pain felt by others. Identification of one’s spiritual boundaries helps to access healing energy and release physical and emotional pain. Without adequate spiritual boundaries people are often in pain as they take on the pain of others. Pain is frequently based in unfulfilled desires, i.e. stress. The basic desire of everyone is to find one who loves and accepts you unequivocally. The other life purpose is to be happy. When a person refuses to admit to these desires, he establishes in himself a force opposed to this longing, as happiness is a natural state of being.
In order to identify one’s spiritual boundaries it is necessary to think about whose pain you may be carrying or how willingly you take on the feelings of others, even when you know that "they" are manipulative. The Natural law of Limitation states that through concentration of power we reject the irrelevant. Through letting go of self-limitation you are able to focus on those goals that will help you to reach your goal. Your soul is always with you, eternal and your link with God. You have established boundaries and limits as a reaction to your safety needs. They are highly individual and differ from person to person. You learned these early in life and still maintain them. Do they serve your purpose of spiritual development? Whose anger have you taken with you. Whose guilt do you shoulder? What spiritual boundaries are you maintaining in an attempt to feel safe?
As you read this article and freely allow thoughts, memories and pictures come to your mind, remember that you are a spiritual being with an ever-present soul. What boundaries are necessary for you to maintain and what burdens that you have carried may be let go? At this moment each reader has accessed information from your eternal soul and spirit guides. The question you may ask is "What do I do with this information."? The answer is to set an ideal to reach for. Consider every positive thought that has come to you and think about your spiritual ideal. What would your life be like if you lived this way?
Without action there are only ideas. Everything that is accomplished has three parts to it; feelings, thoughts and actions. My question to you is, "what is the action that you are willing to commit to that will reflect your spiritual identity?"
As I consider that question myself, I know that I am moving from fear to creativity.
