Over the past few years myself my team have been working together to create an internet web site dedicated to psychic matters. It has finally happened and PsychicWorld.net is up and running in cyberspace. This web site is aimed at internet users seeking to find an informative and interactive site that deals with the subject of the paranormal in an enlightened and entertaining way. There is an interactive element to this web site as readers are invited to send in their stories to share with the world. Within the pages you will find a Predictions Register for anyone who has a precognitive vision or dream etc. There they can register their personal prediction and, should this happen, the proof will be logged and verifiable.

The Boston U.S.A. based Psychotherapist and Spiritualist Medium Eleanor Fisher is hosting a question and answer page inviting you all to E-mail in your personal problems for her expert advice. Your details, name etc. will remain completely confidential as Eleanor, one of the top Psychotherapists  in  Boston  U.S.A. offers you her help and advice.

All those who advertise in the classified columns of Psychic World monthly will automatically be listed on the PsychicWorld.net site. As the feature editor of Psychic World and an author of many books published world wide, I feel the invisible hand of change moving my craft onwards. There can be no doubt that the way we receive information changed completely when the internet was launched. This electronic cyberspace creation is revolutionising our world in the same way that Caxton's printing press did in the late 15th century. There is no resisting the Information Technology of today. We may try to throw a sabot into the system by refusing to recognise and use it, but at the risk of mixing my metaphor, like the luddites of the early 19th century, we will and must fail. The age of the internet and IT (information technology) is now an inevitable fact of life.

As a reader of this journal you may rightly ask what the internet has to do with the Spiritualist belief. I believe that communication between reference groups and/or individuals,  in whatever form is of some degree of import. The Spiritualist belief that there is communication between those of us alive in this material world and our counterparts in the world beyond is shared by countless millions around the globe. This communication takes place in many ways, for example by clairvoyance, automatic writing etc. Why not then by the new medium of the internet and its boundless capability?

The former Deputy Editor of Psychic World, Ms Judith Chisholme, is currently researching and writing about Electronic Voice Phenomenon. This subject deals with the communication of spirits through use of electronic means, such as radio and magnetic audio recording tape. According to Judith there are scientists in the next world working on perfecting a means of intercommunication between the two planes of eternal existence. I have myself witnessed EVP experiments in which voices without physical source were recorded on audio cassette tape. If this can be done in one electronic medium then it may be possible for spirit communication to take place through the internet.

During my recent travels to the U.S.A. I met a number of paranormal investigators who were personally convinced that within the next decade or so a computer programme would be designed to create a bridge between our physical world and the next. This may seem a completely fanciful notion but consider how unbelievable the idea of satellite TV would have been pre Sputnik in the mid 1950's. That is within the lifetime of many of us reading this journal. Can you imagine trying to convince your own grandfather in the year 1955 that within fifty years every home in the UK would have the capability of transmitting and receiving electronic letters to Australia and every developed country in the world and receiving a reply within minutes! There is a term 'Culture Shock' that would apply if we had been transported from the austerity of Harold Macmillan's 'never had it so good' Britain to Tony Blair's IT empowered  world of computers in every home. But we have been transported, we can never return to the 'good old days' as we are already living in tomorrow's world technology. The computer revolution is almost over, the machines are here in numbers that only five years ago would have been unthinkable. It is up to us to use them and enjoy the incredible knowledge they can unlock at the click of a switch.

I fully realise that many people will decry the internet and list countless reasons why it is a source of evil. There is pornography on the internet, but then anyone who has been watching Channel 4 TV of late would be hard pressed to find much worse out there in cyberspace. The greatest beauty of the internet is the freedom it allows us all as individuals to intercommunicate with each other. There are horror stories of people meeting rapists on internet blind dates, of course there are. My experiences have been totally different, extremely positive and of great benefit to me. Indeed one wonderful lady I met on an internet newsgroup for pet lovers drove all the way from her home in Columbus, Ohio to meet me in New York. Dr Lois J. Barin and her husband Professor Kamran Barin along with Lois's parents Mr & Mrs L.J. Schwarzkopf joined my wife Mary and I for a wonderful weekend in New York City. All thanks to the internet and our shared belief that human beings are individuals to be evaluated as such. Lois did tell me that she and her family had an escape plan if I had turned out to be a UK version of Charles Manson, as if!
