666 The Number Of The Beast

‘Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.’ Revelation of St. John Ch.13 verse 18.
This month sees 666 become a date, on the sixth of June 2006, 6/6/06. There are, mainly in the USA, many predictions of dire happenings, from natural disasters to nuclear attacks and no doubt somewhere something horrible will occur and 666 will get the blame. As rational human beings we may dismiss such fear peddling as utter nonsense, but what if the revelation of the number of the beast, as given to St. John in a vision, was true. What would it mean? I set out to discover how the apocalypse was doing and if indeed I could identify the beast and the nature of its mark before it was too late.
"About the time of the end, a body of men will be raised up who will turn their attention to the prophecies, and insist upon their literal interpretation, in the midst of much clamour and opposition." Sir Isaac Newton (1643-1727) That is a prediction from the scientist that discovered the law of gravity. But what could possibly be a ‘literal interpretation’ of the book of Revelations? I had a look: Ch.13 v.2 ‘And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.’ That is how St. John describes The Beast whose number is 666. What sort of a creature could it be?
A definition of The Beast using the Bible and ancient terms of reference may be this: The Beast is symbolic of the Antichrist, the leopard is symbolic of Greece, the bear is symbolic of Media-Persia, the lion is symbolic of Babylon and the dragon is symbolic of Satan. Revelation 12 :9 explains that the dragon is Satan. I decided to consider the biblical description of The Beast. I also considered that as Armageddon had not yet materialized the visions of St. John must be visions of the future so the interpretation above, based on archaic references, was defunct. So on to The Beast:
The Beast, as described above, could, in my opinion, be the human race. Consider the description in its entirety, we have a multi-coloured being, five toes, violent and capable of killing, with DNA the very code of human life. Therefore The Beast may in effect, be the people of the world. Perhaps we are 666, collectively humanity is The Beast.
Revelations Ch.13 v.4 ‘And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast, and they worshipped the beast’. Today’s materialistic culture has turned many people away from spirituality and God creating a society that really does worship itself. Think how today the human form is depicted on television and in the media generally. I refer to the fashion accessories culture, the size 10 image, the way women and indeed men are depicted as objects. Style and appearance are today’s divinities with compassion, consideration and spiritual devotion abandoned. Consumerism is in effect the new god and society appears to be worshipping the golden calf of materialism, with the people totally self obsessed. So the beast, humanity, is in itself the Antichrist.
‘And he shall make all, both little and great, rich and poor, freemen and bondmen, to have a character in their right hand or on their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, but that he hath the character, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.’ Revelations Ch.13. v.16-17 Today we have RFID chips (radio-frequency identification) that are similar to bar-codes. These are today being built into all new vehicles and used extensively by various governments to log journeys made without reference to the owner or driver. The new ID cards that will become a requirement for all in the UK, USA, China, Australia and eventually the entire world will all have RFID tags enabling government agencies to track our movements. It will soon be law that leaving your home without your official ID card is a criminal offence and, believe this or not, you will be detained until you can produce your ID card then fined up to one thousand pounds. In the USA there are now companies that require their employees to have RFID tags inserted into their bodies, injected under the skin, so that they may gain access to restricted areas. That will doubtless be the next stage for us all, RFID tagged at birth.
Within the next ten years it will be impossible for anyone in the developed world to purchase goods, use a bank, get medical attention or walk the streets without being tagged with the RFID mark that identifies them. The new generation CCTV and Traffic Cameras are able to ‘read’ the RFID tags and with massive computer technology linking the network we will all be under constant observation because we will all be carrying The Mark Of The Beast. If you for one minute doubt this go to London and look at what is happening in the world’s first Prison City. CCTV cameras scan in cars on the pretext of a congestion charge that doesn’t work but does take money and acts as a form of control system. The population are effectively test dummies for the forthcoming surveillance state. In 1967 Patrick McGoohan’s ‘The Prisoner’ TV series ended with Number 6. in London, which was identified as the ultimate prison. ‘I am not a number, I am a free man!’ was his cry, soon no one will be able to shout that to the skies when we all carry the number and mark of the beast.
